The Alexander Bar and Bistro, Ballajura
The Alexander Bar and Bistro, or ‘The Alexander’ for short, has grown to become a local hotspot for families in the northern suburbs. Boasting a large outdoor beer garden for the adults and an exciting playground for the kids there’s plenty of entertainment for the whole family. Newly renovated, The Alexander offers a warm and welcoming vibe to anyone paying a visit for lunch, dinner or even just a drink!
Stroll into The Alexander and you’ll find plenty of entertainment to your left with pool tables and screens full of sports. Straight ahead is a plethora of seating options and most importantly the bar and beer garden. To your right is the TAB (if you’re feeling lucky!) – accompanied by more screens with plenty of sport.
During the day you can expect a very relaxed setting surrounded by many of the friendly Ballajura locals – all keen for a good laugh or two! On nights with main sporting events, it can become quite loud inside – but don’t let this discourage you, there’s plenty of outside seating for the family to enjoy a fantastic night out.
The Alexander food
As far as pub grub goes in Perth, the Alexander is amongst the best when it comes to steak sandwiches and Chicken parmis. The first words that come to mind when we think about the food at The Alexander are mouth-watering and hearty.
The menu here is extensive for both lunch and dinner, featuring all the staples we’ve grown to love in Perth. We highly recommend getting a side of Arancini along with your main – not because the portions are at all small, you just need some of these balls in your life. Both gluten free and vegetarian options are available on the menu, so no one in the family misses out on a big feed.
As far as drinks go, the bar boasts many different beers on tap – however we believe you’ll find the most success with one (or two) of their delicious cocktails. If you’re after something sweet we highly recommend the Toblerone, if you’re trying to forget the week you’ve just had then the Long Island Iced Tea is for you!

The Alexander directions
It’s hard to forget where The Alexander is located – 322 Alexander Drive, Ballajura. You can park in any of the bays in front of The Alexander and if that parking is full there is plenty of parking behind the outdoor area and in the Market Place Ballajura IGA car park.
If taking public transport – there is a bus station 200m south of the Alexander on Alexander drive. Cross the road (safely) and head north, you won’t be able to miss it.
